Taking a day out of his busy schedule in London in preparation for the March 5th “Skum Rocks!” Miami Premiere, rhythm bassist and football fan Todd Middlebrook took the train up to Manchester to meet with the band’s mega-fan and Spanish International David Villa. Villa was in Manchester for a week of training with his new club New York City.

“I heard David was into the  band through Fernando (Torres) and our people were able to work out a time for me to get up there and surprise him with Skum some T-shirts, a jacket and an advance copy of the CD even though we are missing 5 solos,” said Todd. “He was really surprised and excited to get the shirts. I am glad New York City helped set this up as New York City is going to be my team this year when I move back.”

“I was very surprised,” said Villa through an interpreter.  “I bought it was Todd on the sidelines, but we were in the middle of a six on six. Then they called me over and I saw the bag of shirts.”

New York City is starting league play this spring and the signing of the Spanish superstar was seen as a huge coup in Europe.  Many experts have gone on the record as saying that Villa gives NYC an instant chance to be competitive.

Will he make the Miami premiere?

“I hope he can make it, but the season is right around the corner,” said Todd. “It was a great day up here and I can’t wait to see David playing in my hometown.”

“We will see, it really comes down to the training schedule. If I can get away from the night I would love to come down,” said a laughing Villa. “Miami are you kidding me? I speak Spanish!”

It is official! The Fabulous Miss Wendy will be joining Skum on stage in their legendary comeback show March 5th at Grand Central in Downtown Miami.  Wendy, who has a cameo in the feature film “Skum Rocks!”, will also walk the red carpet at the premiere at the Miami Beach’s Colony Theater.

“This is exciting,” said Wendy from her Hollywood lair. “I have been a fan of these guys for a long time, and I really thought they were just this urban legend you would hear on the circuit. But to get up and jam with them live. Totally cool!”

“The Fabulous Miss Wendy exudes what rock and roll is all about,” added Skum drummer Tommy Craig. “She is gorgeous, talented and can flat out play the guitar. Stoked about what we are going do together here.”

The boys and Miss Wendy will combine for a few songs and may even surprise the crowd with one of her originals. “We’re not saying what song we are doing, but trust me dude, we are going kill it,” said lead bassist Pat Burke,  “She is the real deal and this is going to be a must see moment in rock and roll.”

“To be in Miami at Grand Central, getting on stage with these guys is going to be a great moment for me,” added Wendy.  “Plus, to see yourself on a thirty foot screen, how can you not want to go out afterward and just rock it out?”

“I first saw Wendy in LA when she played the Whiskey.” said rhythm bassist Todd Middlebrook. “She tore the place down. Ronnie (Wood) told me she was the real deal and he was spot on.”

Designers Selected for “Skum Rocks!” Red Carpet

The designs have been submitted, the favorites selected, the agreements signed and now we can finally introduce the platoon of world renowned fashions designers who have been selected by the band to design and produce their coveted red carpet attire for the March 5th premiere in Miami.

Nancy Bennett

“I was sent portfolios from about ten designers, some of them very big names such as Bill Blass, Armani, Hugo Boss to name a few, but they, in my opinion were tired and nothing jumped out at me,” said lead singer Hart Baur, “But in the end I went with Strega’s of St. Augustine with designer Nancy Bennett. The color, over the top fashion sense, style, yeah, it is what I needed for this event.”

Giorgio Armani

Giorgio Armani

Lead bassist Pat Burke is taking a more conventional approach as Armani will be working closely with him to create his vision for the night. “I received an e-mail from one of the Armani designers and he pretty much sold me,” said Pat. “Besides, I’m getting like a hundred shirts for free, so I’m pretty much set for life with this stuff.’

Rhythm bassist Todd Middlebrook is also

Ximon Lee

going slightly off the grid as he has selected New York City fashion newcomer and rising star Ximon Lee to  come up with a design that Lee has called “visionary.”  “I am very connected to the fashion world,” said Todd.  “I heard Ximon was doing some creative stuff and last month I was backstage at the Queen show at the O2 and Adam (Lambert) told me Ximon was a genius. I was sold right there.”

Lead guitarist John Eaton will be wearing an ensemble by one of his sponsors, Louis Vutton. “They are working on a style I’m  going to call ‘Ghetto Chic’,” said John. “I am going to use the red carpet as a platform to launch the line and hopefully we can have this in stores by Labor day.”

Drummer Tommy Craig has decided to go with a more conventional look, featuring a vest and sweater ensemble with khaki sailor pants and plum ascot by Abercrombie and Fitch.  “I liked what they proposed,” said Tommy. “They did a full story board, with an animated power point presentation and it looked great.  They are a great company and to know my photo will be on the wall in hundreds of malls across the country sold me on them.”

Attorney Walter Bruning will be wearing a custom made Tweed Jacket and argyle bow tie by the Brooks Brothers. ‘Excited to see the jacket,” said Walter. “The fitting went well.”

Hart and Wayne Newton Rock Out in Miami

Hart-Wayne Nov2014

Saturday Night at the Intercontinental Hotel in downtown Miami was the glitzy and glamorous Miami Make a Wish Foundation 20th Annual Ball. And if you looked into the corner of the massive ballroom, away from all the glitz and pomp, you would have seen none other than legendary performer Wayne Newton, sharing some laughs with Skum’s lead singer, Hart Baur.

Wayne and Hart were out at the star studded event in support of the Make a Wish Foundation, the organization whose mission it is to grant the wishes of children with life threatening medical conditions, a mission that Wayne Newton describes as “fabulous”. They were also there to in support of fellow performer Diana Ross, who starred in the evening’s “Oz Reimagined” theme.

“What can I say?” asked Hart. “Wayne is a legend, and when I learned he would be at this event, it was all the more reason to attend. We were able to catch up, and had a great conversation.”

Wayne was excited about the upcoming Miami premier of “Skum Rocks!“. “I love Alice Cooper,” he said. “Alice is in the rock and roll hall of fame for a reason, and anything he signs on to is a must see. And I’m proud of the Skum guys. There’s is a great rock and roll story, and I wish them all the best.”

“I was joking about Skum playing Vegas next year, and told Wayne we could stay at his house,” said Hart. “He laughed.”

“Not happening, ” added Wayne. “I heard what the guys did during their stay in Memphis. Besides, have you seen Tommy Craig’s house?”

“It was a great night for a great cause,” added Hart.  “Plus, hanging with Wayne was special. Hope he can make the premiere.”

Todd Visits Old Trafford – Cheers United On!

Wayne and Todd talk football and rock and roll.

Last Sunday Todd took the train up to Manchester from London to see his good friends Wayne Rooney and Ryan Giggs as they battled Chelsea in a vital EPL match. Todd of course watched the game from the players box at Old Trafford where he saw an exciting finish to a hard fought game when Robin Van Persie notched the equalizer late in injury time.

“It was a fantastic match,” said Todd. “And it is always great to get up here to see Wayne and Ryan, although it is strange to see Ryan firmly entrenched on the sideline (Ryan Giggs is now an assistant and no longer a player) it is still a thrill to be here supporting them. Although I told Giggys he looks old in that track suit! You remember they made the trek to London to see the film last year, so it is fair to say we have each other’s backs.”

“Anytime Todd can make it up here he is welcome,” added Wayne Rooney. “He has been a big supporter of ours for years and it was only fair to do the same for him when the band was in London. And the film is smashing. Can’t wait until it is on cable.”

The game was a hard fought match in which United had to stage a very late comeback when many in stands felt all was lost. “United never gives up,” said Todd. “It is why I will always support them. You know they were not pleased with the draw,”

A laughing Giggs added ‘never satisfied with draw,no never, unless of course you are down one in the fourth minute of injury time, then you are most pleased!”

Todd laughed as they shared a pint in the players lounge. “Giggsy can always crack me up, said Todd. “Great guys and glad I was here for this one.”

The FBI said Monday it was addressing allegations that online accounts of several celebrities, including Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence, Sports Illustrated Cover Girl Kate Upton and Skum lead guitarist John Eaton had been hacked, leading to the posting of their nude photographs online.

Eaton was alerted to the hackling late Sunday night as friends began calling him to alert him to the fact that some private photos were appearing on several websites along with photos of several other celebrities including Upton and Lawrence.

The agency did not say what actions it was taking to investigate who was responsible for posting naked photos of Lawrence, Upton, Eaton  and other stars. Apple said Monday it was looking into whether its online photo-sharing service had been hacked to obtain the intimate images.

Lawrence, a three-time Oscar nominee who won for her role in “Silver Linings Playbook,” contacted authorities after the images began appearing Sunday. It is unclear if Eaton and Lawrence spoke, although t was  reported the two have been in contact via e-mail.

“I reached out to both Kate and Jen to let them know not to worry about it too much. This stuff happens,” said John.

Naked images purporting to be of other female stars as well as Eaton were also posted, although the authenticity of many couldn’t be confirmed. The source of the leak was unclear.

“This is a flagrant violation of privacy,” Lawrence’s publicist Liz Mahoney wrote in a statement. “The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence.”

The alleged photos of John appear to show him  in varies stages of undress in a shower with two yet unnamed females and several shots of John in a hot tub at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, also in varies stages of undress as well as one holding what appears to be a shrimp cocktail in one hand.

Skum attorney Walter Bruning also threatened legal action against anyone posting any of the leaked photos. “We unequivocally deny these photos are of John.  However, if any of these photos are posted, the offending websites will be getting a cease and desist letter from me as well as a seven figure lawsuit.”

“This happens all the time,” said John. “These people have nothing better to do than get into our phones and hack photos. Get a life guys.”

The FBI said it was “aware of the allegations concerning computer intrusions and the unlawful release of material involving high profile individuals, and is addressing the matter.”

“Any further comment would be inappropriate at this time,” spokeswoman Laura Eimiller wrote in a statement.

John Eaton Kicking Back With Alex Morgan

Alex John 2

Sunday night, Skum’s John Eaton was out in support of US Soccer’s Superstar and Skum fan Alex Morgan. Alex was in town with Coca Cola, and as a guest of Miami Beach, promoting young kids to get active and involved in sports. The event was held at the Washington Avenue McDonald’s, and was packed with excited fans who were able to meet with Alex as well as get a signed copy of her new book “The Kicks: Sabotage Season.”

“Great turnout tonight,” said Alex. “Great to see people out in this weather.”

John, who is a huge US Soccer Fan of both the women’s and men’s teams said, “Of course I was going to be out to support Alex. She’s an awesome player and what she does with her books and her support of the youth sports programs nationwide says all you need to know.”

“Really appreciate the support,” said Alex, who was also doing an event with Miami Beach the next day.

“I was joking with her about who’s going to win the World Cup in Canada next year, and she was laughing ‘USA for sure!’. I love this game, we are a soccer band, as Pat, Todd, Hart and Tommy all played, so they got me into it. Saw a Premiere League game when we recorded at Abbey Road last year and now I’m really hooked.”

“We are winning it, no doubt about that,” said Alex. “You are going, right?”

John, depending on the band’s schedule next summer, is planning on being in Canada at some of the U.S. games and has announced that he will be composing a song for the team.

“As always, it will come own to our shoot schedule,” said John. “But once they do the draw and get a schedule up, I’m booking tickets. Tommy already said he wants to go, as he’s thinking about doing a book about seeing the World Cup like a rock star, so that’ll be fun.”:

“For sure I’m going,” added Tommy, who was unable to attend the event. “Hopefully I will have my travel show all set up by then.”

Pat Burke was unable to attend. “Wait, Alex was in town this week?” said Pat when reached by phone.
