The long awaited premiere of the film version of the hit Broadway Play ‘Rock of Ages” hit Miami Beach last night and some of the band was out in support. With the event being held at the Regal Cinema on Lincoln Road to a standing room only audience, and massive after party, it was a festive evening.
Tom Cruise was a no show, but that didn’t slow down the concert atmosphere of the night. Having filmed a vast majority of the film locally, it was a must for the guys to be out and mingle with the stars as well as the many extras who have worked on both films (“Rock of Ages” & “Skumrocks”).
Band members Tommy Gunn, John Eaton and Hart Baur were on hand to walk the red carpet and meet with friends and fans. “I worked on “Rock of Ages” and was in a scene shot at “Revoloution Live,” said drummer Tommy Gunn. “I know all these people here standing in line. Good to see them out having some fun.”
“It is important for Miami filmmaking to be out here and show some support,” said lead singer Hart Baur. “This city is a great place to not only make movies, but to premiere them as well, and besides, Julianne is a doll so it was good to see her again.”
“It was great to be back in Miami, I missed it so much,” added Hough. “To see everyone again is great. I miss running on the beach!”
“I love Julianne,” said lead guitarist John Eaton. “We met last year when she was filming and we were trying to get her do something with us but the schedules never worked. I told her I loved the blue leather dress. She just laughed.”
