Sports and Entertainment Executive and Florida Boxing Hall of Fame member Brad Jacobs has officially signed on as the manager of the rock group Skum. The band met with Brad over the weekend at Mike’s at the Venetian where they dined on a private dinner of Swiss Scallops topped with sautéed butter, roast turkey in a cranberry glaze with sides of garlic green beans, and potatoes au gratin.
“It was a very positive meeting,” said drummer Tommy Craig, “and the dinner was as expected, excellent. We are thrilled to have him on our team”
Brad is no stranger to the events and entertainment biz. He has been blazing trails in the boxing game since 1981 and has worked with some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry. Brad was the Senior Programming Consultant for “USA Tuesday Night Fights”, the longest running, highest rated, weekly boxing series in the country. The program was broadcast by USA Network, the #1 rated prime-time cable network.
Brad was Senior Advisor to former Heavyweight Boxing Champion Roy Jones Jr. and his company Square Ring, Inc. He ran his business operations for over 5 years, including major pay-per-view events, and negotiated multi-million dollar contract on behalf of Jones with HBO. Brad is currently the Executive Event Producer for Top Rank, Manny Pacquiao’ s promoter. Brad brings his extensive expertise, knowledge and experience in all forms of special event management to the band, as well as a complete hands on background in all aspects of live event production. Brad has been a Skum fan for ages!
Rhythm bassist Todd Mittelbrook added “Brad is an amazing addition to the team. I was thrilled he wanted to work with us! Everyone knows of Brad and what he has accomplished , hell he is in the Hall of Fame! It is a win win for all of us!”
With the addition of Brad to the Skum management team Louis Mozam has been reassigned to strictly Public Relations, with Walter Bruning writing up contracts.
‘I am looking forward to be working with Brad,” said Walter. ” I have some great contracts ready to draw up.”
“This make perfect sense,” added bassist Pat Burke. “I have been a fan of Brad’s for years and when he approached us I was like ‘yeah this works’. He is getting the TV show set up. Tommy is about to launch his fragrance line. The solos are almost done. Just a natural progression.”
“This is going to be a new adventure for sure, ” said Brad. “We need to get this TV show nailed down and with a good network. But I like these guys. They write great songs and put the fun back into music. In my opinion these guys will be the saviors of Rock and Roll.”
